Darulis, Frank Frank DARULIS Frank Darulis, born July 4th 1910, passed away peacefully on Feb ruary 25, 2010 at the age of 99. His long life was highlighted by a 30 year career in the United States Navy as a Boatswain's Mate. He was a Pearl Harbor Sur vivor having served on the USS Oklahoma and also fought as a Navy welterweight boxing cham pion. Harry Truman presented Frank with his honorable dis charge papers. After leaving ac tive duty Frank spent 20 years as a shopkeeper for Boeing. After two retirements he enjoyed work ing in his garden, spending time with his wife and grandchildren, playing pinochle, and spending time with his dogs. Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife Eleanor. He is survived by his two daughters Julie Neddo of Henderson, NV and Arlene Rutt of Renton, WA; one stepdaughter Sharon Rader of Fife, WA, and many grandchil dren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday March 4th from 1pm to 7pm at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton and then a funeral service with full military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday March 5th, also at Greenwood Memorial. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at Arbor Village Memory Care in Kent on Saturday, March 6th at 1:00 p.m. Published in The Seattle Times on February 28, 2010
