Eide, Elmer O. Elmer O. Eide, 92, of Boise, Idaho passed away February 25, 2010 in Boise, Idaho. A viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010, 12:00 pm at the Cloverdale Funeral Home Chapel with graveside service to follow at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Pastor Tom Daugherty will officiate the service. Elmer was born to Olav E. and Kari Eide in Mondak, Montana. He attended Boise schools and graduated from Boise High School and Boise Business College as an accountant. He served in the Army during World War II, and was stationed in Europe, where he served as a medic. Daddy loved to tell the story of seeing General Patton when he was admitted to the hospital where he worked. Elmer married Elizabeth "Betty" Lydiatt on Easter Sunday in 1946. They had four daughters; Karen (Mrs. Robert) Cook of Boise, Linda (Mrs. Rich) Schaffer of Parma, Eileen Eide, and Sonja Lamm, both of Boise. Elmer worked as an Accountant until his retirement at the age of 82. He was very proud of his Norwegian heritage, and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Sons of Norway for many years. Elmer was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, songs that make you laugh, nature, gardening, and his favorite color "sky blue pink". He is survived by his darling wife Betty, his daughters, sons in law, and 9 grandchildren; Ben, Sheri, and John Cook, Tammy, Kevin and Tara Schaffer, Casey Lamm and Lacey and Sam Mendiola and 11 great grandchildren. We will all miss the twinkle in his lovely blue eyes and his smile that spoke volumes of love. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Karl and Melvin and sisters; Marie, Louise and Nellie.
