Jimenez, Luis Benito 1919-2010 Three months before his 91st birthday, of natural causes. The eldest son of Jesus and Soledad Jimenez; married to Madeline Valancia. Born near the copper fields of Globe, Arizona, Luis Jimenez worked and lived the majority of his life in Sacramento. A graduate of Grant Union High School, he served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II, seeing combat action in the South Pacific. He eventually retired from the Nulaid Egg Company after 28 years. Luis is survived by his daughter, Mary Louise, his son, Bob Jimenez, their two spouses, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Jimenez is also survived by his sister Delores Acevedo and brother Frank Jimenez, both of Sacramento. A memorial service will be held on February 27, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church located at 1717 El Monte Ave., North Sacramento. Published in the The Sacramento Bee on February 21, 2010
