Barcott, Gregory Robert Gregory "Greg" Robert Barcott, 47, died unexpectedly at home in Everett on Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was born on March 30, 1962 in San Jose, California to Robert and MaryLynne Barcott. Greg was the oldest of six kids, being the big brother to Dave, Mollie, Steve, Janet, and Cici. He attended St. Marks Elementary School in Seattle, Washington after which his family moved to Anacortes, Washington. There he attended Anacortes High School, graduating in 1980. While there, he played football and competed in wrestling at the state level. Greg attended college for a year at Gonzaga before succumbing to the lure of Alaska's commercial fisheries. Spring of 1983 took him to San Francisco, California where he quickly learned the construction trade, becoming a journeyman craftsman. He returned to Washington for a family visit in the 90's and there he met and later married the love of his life, Pamela Ann Bonnicksen, on February 4, 1995. Greg worked in Wenatchee and Everett, Washington as a union carpenter. He was the very proud and loving parent of two boys, Robert Michael (12) and Ryan Gregory (5), and he was actively involved in their lives. Camping, swimming, leading Robby's Cub Scout pack, assisting in little league, going on beach outings and to Mariner's games were among his many family oriented activities. Greg enjoyed literature and kept a first edition collection of his favorite authors. He knew most of the questions in Jeopardy and could easily complete most New York Times crossword puzzles. Greg shared an interest in bird hunting with his brothers. He and his wife found time for vacations to sunny climates, and especially sought places where the snorkeling was good. Greg is survived by his wife, Pamela, at the family home; and two beautiful sons, Robert "Robby" and Ryan; his mother, MaryLynne; and siblings, Dave, Janet, Steve and Cici; as well as many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Barcott; and sister, Mollie. Visitation will be held from 3:00 # 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes and also from 10:00 # 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Anacortes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church with a reception to follow at the American Croatian Club of Anacortes, 1202 7th Street, Anacortes, WA. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2010, at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 S.E. Everett Mall Way, in Everett, WA.
