Knudsen-Peaney, Brandi Former Alaska resident Brandi Knudsen-Peaney, 36, died peacefully in her sleep Jan. 21, 2010, at home in Midlothian, Texas. A memorial service and celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Eagle River Church of God. Brandi was born Feb. 6, 1973, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Patrick and Carolyn Knudsen. When she was a small child, her sister and brother nicknamed her "Booie" and that is how she will be remembered. Brandi's father was in the military and she lived in various states but the majority of her youth was spent in Alaska. She attended several different schools between Alaska and Texas and graduated from Chugiak High School in Chugiak in 1991. Brandi loved the outdoors and activities, including ice skating, riding three-wheelers, snowmobiles and swimming. Her favorite activities were skiing and fishing. Brandi graduated from the American Airlines Travel Academy and was an exceptional travel agent. She thoroughly loved all of the travel to new and exciting places. Brandi's first love was her children, Collin Roland, Arianna and Jared Peaney. She greatly enjoyed spending time with them and watching each develop into a special person. Brandi looked forward to returning to Alaska in the summers to share with them all of the things she loved doing as a child. In recent years, she spent many fun times camping with her family and friends around Texas and Oklahoma. Brandi's health began to fail in 2003, but in spite of her own considerable health issues, the well-being and happiness of her children were always foremost in her mind. Brandi is survived by her husband, Richard Peaney; and her three children, Collin Roland, Arianna Peaney and Jared Peaney of Midlothian, Texas. She also leaves her parents, Pat and Carolyn Knudsen of Eagle River; sister, Roxanne Laughlin and family of Palmer; and brother, Jason Knudsen and family of Spokane, Wash. In addition, she leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. Brandi "Booie" will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Donations may be made to the Brandi Knudsen-Peaney Memorial Account at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union. Published in adn.com from February 21 to February 22, 2010
