Beach, Loretta Jean

Loretta Jean Beach was born October 24, 1936 in Scottsbluff, 
NE. She passed away January 20, 2010 in Seattle, WA, due to 
complications from Wegener's Granulomatosis.

When she was very young, the family moved from Nebraska 
to the Olympia area. In 1954 she married George Lucich. They 
had two children, Kirby and Kim, and made their home in 
Mountlake Terrace, WA., where she lived until her death. They 
were married until 1962. In 1963 she married Ted Beach and 
had a daughter, Tracy. Ted and Loretta were married until 
1974.

She worked for several years at the Northgate Bon Marche. In 
1987 she started A-1 Pet Care, which she named after her 
father's business, A-1 Millwork. A-1 Pet Care was an in-home 
pet care service that she operated for 22 years. She loved all 
of the animals that she cared for like they were her own. 
Aside from her family, caring for animals was what she 
enjoyed doing most.

Her favorite activities were spending time with her family, 
gardening, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She also 
participated each year in the MS walk, in support of her sister 
and brother, who both have Multiple Sclerosis.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ray Dickinson; her 
mother, Blanche Dickinson; and her brother, Don Dickinson. 

She is survived by her sister, Donna Rae Wagner; son Kirby 
(Anita) Lucich; daughters, Kim (Joe) Boyd, and Tracy Beach 
(Scott Clysdale); grandchildren, Nichole (Ben) McCall, Angie 
Lucich, Josh, Brendan and Tessa Beach; and great-
grandchildren, Maddyson and Mason McCall.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at 
Pacific Medical Center and Virginia Mason Hospital and Clinic 
for their compassionate and respectful care over the last year.

Donations may be made to the MS Society or SPCA (Society 
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 
Bothell/ Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 18224 103rd Ave
