Pond, Robert Blaine Anchorage resident Robert Blaine Pond, 63, died Jan. 29, 2010, at Providence Alaska Medical Center of cancer. A committal service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fort Richardson National Cemetery with military honors. Attendees should meet at the gate by 12:30 p.m. Mr. Pond was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Granville, N.Y. He became an Alaska resident in 1975. He served in the U.S. Army for 26 years, completing three tours in Vietnam and earning three Purple Hearts and a Combat Infantry Badge. He was later employed at Anchorage Chrysler Dodge for 14 years. His hobbies included golf and vacations in Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Renee Pond; daughter, Kimberly Pepper of Anchorage; son-in-law, David Pepper of Anchorage; brother-in-law, Joseph H.
