Dixon, William Joseph

William Joseph (Bill) Dixon 8/03/1923 - 1/22/2010 The son of Clara
and JC Dixon, Bill was born in Kansas City, MO. He attended Red Bluff
union High School in Red Bluff, CA and joined the US Navy where he
served as a Hospital Corpsman attached to the US Marine Corps
during World War II. He married the love of his life, Gaye Jordan on
October 7, 1944 while they were both stationed at a military
dependent's hospital in Miami, FL. Bill's career after his military
service included working side-by-side with his wife in co-founding
Western Moulding Company in Northern Arizona and later owning
and operating two manufactured housing retirement communities in
Tucson, AZ. Bill always had a love of flying and co-founded
Coronado Airport in Albuquerque, NM in the 1960s. Bill was a
member of the North Tucson Lions Club for more than 35 years; he
held a variety of club offices during those years, including that of
Club President. He was also a member of the Greater Arizona
Manufactured Housing Association. Bill was preceded in death by his
sister, Virginia Spanfelner. He is survived by his loving wife, Gaye;
sister, Florence Micke; daughters, Sharon Dixon and Mary Coonrod;
grandchildren, Shannon Vollborn and Robert Coonrod; and great-
granddaughter, Mary Katherine (Katie) Dixon. No services are planned.
