Beltramo, Mario L. Sr.

Mario L. Beltramo Sr. Was born on March 25, 1922 and passed
away peacefully at the age of 87 after a brief illness, surrounded
by his family at St. Agnes Medical Center on January 5, 2010. He
was born in Stockton, California to Louis and Teresa Beltramo
who had immigrated from Italy, and was raised in San Francisco
where he graduated from Sacred Heart High School. In 1942 he
entered the United State Army where he served with distinction
in Northern Africa, France, Italy and Germany. After his discharge
in 1945 he married the love of his life, Rose Marie Carollo of
Fresno. He and Rose returned to San Francisco where he was a
grocery store owner for many years before retiring from the
grocery business in 1984. After his retirement he became a real
estate agent. In 1991 he and Rose moved to Fresno to be closer
to their family. For the past 17 years Mario was a devoted
parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where he
served for many years as an usher. He was a daily communicant,
each morning leading the rosary group. It was a special joy to
him to pray the rosary with countless classes of students of St.
Anthony's grammar school. He was also a member of the San
Joaquin Memorial Adoration Group. Mario enjoyed walking,
gardening, traveling to Table Mountain with Rose- never asking
her how much she had lost- and being with his children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, of whom he was
exceedingly proud. Mario is survived by his wife of 64 years,
Rose; son, Mario Jr. and his wife, Linda; daughter, Cathy Frye and
her husband, John; daughter, Carolyn Meyer and her husband, Jeff;
11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Recitation of the
Holy Rosary will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic
Church, at Bullard and Maroa, Fresno, California on Friday,
January 8, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Saturday,
January 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's
Cemetery, Fresno, California. Remembrances may be made to the
Poverello House.
