Hulse, Barbara Algie

Barbara Algie (Burns) HULSE Passed away December 29, 2009 in
Bellevue. She was born to Ollie Williamson Burns and Algernon
Edward Burns in Kansas City, Missouri on November 28, 1920.
Her father died in a railway accident six months before she was
born. Barbara met John Edward Brice Hulse in 1938 in Kansas
City. Their courtship was interrupted by Brice's service in the U.S.
Army during World War II. He moved to Seattle after the war and
she joined him April 11, 1947. They were married that same day
and spent the following 62 years together. Barbara worked as a
legal secretary until the birth of their son after which she worked
as a homemaker and volunteer. In retirement, Barbara and Brice
spent many happy years cruising the San Juan Islands and British
Columbia in their boat and exploring North America from coast
to coast and from Guatemala to the Arctic Ocean in their RV.
Barbara is survived by her husband, son Brian Hulse of Seattle,
his wife Julia Paden, and grandchildren Brice and Eleanor Hulse.
At her request, there will be no service. Interment will be at
Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue.
