Rathbun, Barbara J.

GILDFORD - Barbara Jean (Murphy) Zabaleta Sande Rathbun, 77, a 
retired teacher who enjoyed animals, auction sales and collecting 
antiques, died of complications from a stroke Thursday at a Havre care 
center.

Her memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday at Gildford Baptist Church, 
followed by a reception at the church. Private burial of ashes will take 
place at Highland Cemetery in Havre. Rockman Funeral Chapel of 
Chester is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Robert Rathbun of Gildford; 
children Frank Zabaleta of Redlands, Calif., and Kitty Zabaleta of Long 
Beach, Calif.; stepchildren Bill Rathbun and Bev Groseclose of 
Hingham; a brother, Ronald Murphy of Spokane; and eight 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands Frank Zabaleta and Reuben 
Sande.
