| Bower, Edith Lorraine Hoover After her heroic battle with Arteriosclerosis, she passed away on June 1, 2010, at her home in Rancho Cordova, Calif. Born in Sacramento 82 years ago Edith Lorraine (Hoover) Bower is now reunited in heaven with her mother Stella, father George, brother's Harold and Clifford, sister Shirley, son John Packard and son-in-law Dennis Forney. She is survived by her devoted husband Arthur Bower of Rancho Cordova where they resided in love for 42 years, sister-in-law Arlene Hoover of Fremont, daughters Kathleen (Jim) McDaniel of Rancho Cordova, RaShell Forney of Auburn, daughter-in-law Melodee Packard of Roseville, and grandchildren Tom (Patricia) Davis of Kirkland, Wash., Christopher McDaniel of Rancho Cordova, Tiffany Davis of Sacramento, and Victoria Packard of Colfax. Also missing her loving affection will be her 5.5 great-grandchildren, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. During WWII Edith was a decoder at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco and serviced trucks for the U.S. Army. She practiced as a LVN in S.F., then went into electronics where she proudly worked on the space exploration shuttles. Edith most enjoyed being home doing stitchery and crossword puzzles. She had a great love of laughter and zest for life. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, 8201 Greenback Ln in Fair Oaks, CA 95628.
