Posey, Anna Marie Anna Marie Posey Retired Elementary Teacher 82, who taught at Tucson schools from 1965 through 1989, died from complications arising from surgery for congestive heart failure on May 31, 2010, Memorial Day at Tucson Medical Center. She passed away peacefully with family present at her bedside. Born to Nina and Julius Revielle on November 12, 1927, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she was raised in Frederick, Colorado, along with two brothers and two sisters. She received her undergraduate degree from Loretto Heights College in Denver in 1950, with further studies at the University of St. Louis, Missouri, in 1951. She married Charlie Wilson Posey in 1953 and they moved to Tucson in 1961 along with their two sons, Charlie and Wilson. Her husband died from lung cancer in 1965. After teaching in Colorado, Missouri, and Alabama during the 1950s, Anna began her career in Tucson at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School in 1965 and received her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Arizona in 1967 being subsequently hired by the Tucson Unified School District to teach at the Miles Exploratory Learning Center (1967-69), a school for disabled children. She later taught at White (1969-79) and Hudlow (1979-89) elementary schools in TUSD. A member of numerous educational chapters, including Pi Lambda Theta and Delta Kappa Gamma Mu, she was acknowledged for excellence in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" in 1992. Upon her retirement in 1989, she volunteered and performed charitable service. A beloved mother, she is survived by her two sons, Charlie M. Posey of Tucson and Wilson J. Posey of Laguna Hills, California, his wife, Carolyn, and their daughter, Angelica, along with a brother, Tony Revielle, of Denver, CO and a sister, Margarite Horvath of Hayward, CA. On Saturday, June 5, 2010 a public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., which is handling funeral arrangements. Funeral services will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Chuch, 1800 S. Kolb Rd, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010.
