Paul, Gustavo Jose Jr. June 21, 1929 to May 20, 2010 Gus was born on June 21, 1929 in Paris, France then lived in Caracas, Venezuela and later returned to France. In the fall of 1940, Gus and his father escaped the Nazis by fleeing to Madrid, and then on to Lisbon. From there they traveled to New York. During his life he was an accomplished champion level water skier in Venezuela and graduated from the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey as a mechanical and electrical engineer with his Master's degree. Gus was known in the dog world for having many German Shepherd dogs that earned the UDT title. That is the obedience Utility title and the Tracking Dog title. Gus has been a member of many local dog clubs including the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, the German Shepherd Dog Club of San Diego, the Obedience Club of San Diego, the All Breed Obedience Dog Club of San Diego, and the Agility Club of San Diego. He was known for the many tracking titles, obedience titles and agility titles he had earned on his numerous German Shepherd dogs. He also had a love for nice cars. He had been a member of the San Diego Corvette Club. Gus Paul is survived by his five children, Anita Paul Oliver, Michael "Charles" Paul, Margot Paul, Gus Paul III, and Pandora Paul Sordon, and his grandchildren, Brittany Paul Oliver, Gustavo J. Paul IV, Allyson S. Paul, Kylie M. Paul and Dylan J. Paul, and his ex-wife Galina Briskin. Gus was preceded in death by his first and second wives Katherine "Kay" Montgomery and Jutta M. Sordon and his daughter, Esther Margot Paul. May they all rest in peace. There are no funeral services scheduled for Gustavo.
