Martha Ireland

8/29/1924 to 11/25/2009 Mom went peacefully,
surrounded by her loving children Janet Neiman,
Marie McGowen, Harry (Linda) Ireland, Pat (Dick)
Kauppila, and Mike (Jackie) Ireland. Mom was born in
Smithville, MO, the youngest of 12 and the last
surviving "Corum" sibling. Mom met Dad in 1942
during WWII while temporarily stationed in Kansas
City, MO, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage
prior to his death in 2002. They moved to Fox Island
in 1956, and after raising the family she went back
to school in the late 60's to become a computer
programmer during the infancy of the Tech Age.
Grandma I, as known by her 20 grandchildren, 26
great- and 6 great-great-grandchildren, was also
very special to her many friends at the Fox Island
Alliance Church, her Pinochle Gals, and her years of
volunteer work through Cootiette Club, Fox Island
Grange, and American Lake Veterans Hospital. A
celebration of her life will be held at the Alliance
Church on Fox Island on Wednesday, December 2, 2009
at 1PM. Remembrances may be made to the Fox Island
Alliance Church, Hospice of MultiCare, or your
favorite charity.
