| Clark, Wesley Scott 77 06/25/1932 11/23/2009 Wesley Scott Clark, 77, was called home to heaven Nov. 23, 2009. Wes was born in Scranton, Pa., to George and Ruth Clark. Most of his childhood was spent in California before the family of seven settled in Oregon. Wes attended Roosevelt High School and survived the Vanport flood. His life's joy began the day he walked into Bradley Grocery. He took one look at Boots Bradley and said to his brother Don, "I'm going to marry that girl!" Wes and Boots were married 57 years, celebrating their last anniversary six weeks ago during a beautiful weekend at the Oregon coast with their children. After serving as a U.S. Army sergeant in Korea, Wes worked 30 years for Allied-Kelite (later Witco) as an industrial chemical salesman. Music was an important part of Wes' life. He was a drummer and lead singer for 40 years in The Tremolos band. In recent years Wes shared his singing talents with his church, enjoying worship through song. Wes was a long-standing member of the Gateway Elks Lodge and enjoyed many Thursday nights with his brothers. He enjoyed fishing and took his family and friends for many boating adventures on the Willamette and Siletz rivers. Wes made many lifelong friends through his work, music, travels and church. He is survived by his wife, Boots; son, Bradley of Portland; daughter, Laura (Tim) of Milwaukie; granddaughters, Ashley Clark of Portland and Erica LaPointe (Jonny) of Beaverton; grandsons, Clark and Max Krahn of Milwaukie; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Elwood Clark (Sandi) of Yuma, Ariz. Wes was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Marian, Delsa and Donald Clark. Services have been held. Memorial gifts may be sent to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 4800 N.E. 72nd Ave., Portland, OR 97218. Published in The Oregonian on November 29, 2009 |
