Zehrung, Barbara Ellen Logue 79 02/14/1930 10/24/2009 Queen of the 1948 Rose Festival, Barbara Ellen Logue Zehrung, of Lake Oswego, died Oct. 24, 2009. She was 79. Born on Valentine's Day in Longview, Wash., she was the daughter of Grace and Mickey Shannon, the stepdaughter of Kenneth Logue and the sister of Donna Miesen McCormack (all now deceased). Barbara was married to Dean Zehrung for 33 years. Together, they raised three children. Barbara moved to Charbonneau in the '90s, where she met her dearest friend and companion, Sam Mallicoat. They enjoyed many years of travel and adventure, adding great joy to Barbara's life. We are so thankful and blessed to include you, Sam, as part of the family. Barbara is survived by her children, Don Zehrung (Manette) of Woodburn, Connie Connor (Donko) of Lake Oswego and Toby Dixon (Brian) of Savannah, Ga.; grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Annika Zehrung, Amanda Sanford, Elliott Connor and McKay Challman; and great-grandchild, Ryley Wilson. The family would like to express their extreme appreciation to caregivers Rhonda, Carly and Connie at Rhonda's Foster Home where Barbara spent the final years of her life in her battle with Alzheimer's disease. A celebration of Queen Barbara's life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, in the Charbonneau clubhouse, 3200 S.W. Charbonneau Dr., Wilsonville, OR 97070.
