Diane Jane CHILDERS

On the dark and stormy morning of November 10th, 2009,
Diane Jane Childers journeyed to her next adventure with
the same tenaciousness she carried in life. She was born
May 2nd, 1945 in Vallejo, California and spent the rest
of her life in Washington, always surrounded by friends,
family, and her beloved pups. Her infectious and unique
laugh carried her through a lifelong love of learning at
Mount Rainier High School, Western Washington State
College (BA Education), and City University (MA Applied
Behavioral Science). Diane always encouraged the heart
of everyone around her, never leaving anyone to question
that they must pursue their life's dreams and goals,
just as she had. She had a successful career as a top
salesperson at US West Yellow Pages, but her real
passions included Seattle Mariner baseball with friend
Erna, skiing Crystal, hiking Mt. Ranier, cruises with
Christine, volunteering, and exploring the world. Her
favorite organizations included YMCA of Pierce County
Domestic Violence Project, CG Jung Society, Humane
Society of Tacoma and Pierce County, and the Christ
Episcopal Church of Puyallup - she would be happiest if
those who wished to remember her would donate to one of
those organizations or one that supports cancer or
leukemia. Diane is preceded in death by parents Raymond
and Evelyn Childers and brother Roy Randall. Her wit and
wry sense of humor will especially be missed by brothers
Lloyd Barnett (Sandra), Joseph Barnett (Colette), sister
Phyllis Wagner, cousins Robert Kearney (Midi) and
Celeste Fralick (Joe), nieces (especially Kayla, Toni,
Pascale, and Valerie), and her babies Buddy and Smokey.
A funeral with communion will be held at the Christ
Episcopal Church of Puyallup on Friday, December 4th at
4:00 P.M. A celebration of Diane's life will be held on
Saturday, December 5th at 2:00 P.M. in her home.
