| Dorothy Rose Martinez, 84, returned home to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born February 14, 1925 in Globe, Arizona, the daughter of Louis and Maggie Mort. She spent her younger years traveling with her father and step-mother Frances Tanner. She had three brothers and three sisters. Because of her father's work, she moved frequently and attended many different schools. Because of this she learned to make friends easily. Dorothy was very outgoing and -- NEVER MET A STRANGER. She learned her incredible work ethics from her father which helped her throughout her life. She was the apple of her father's eye and loved him dearly. Dorothy was married to Paul Leonard Martinez on August 23, l942 in McCall, Idaho. They had four children, and made their life in Nampa, Idaho where they worked together in various businesses. Her love for her family always came first and she was an incredible homemaker. Her love for cooking gave her children and grandchildren many memories of wonderful holidays, good food, and lots of laughter. She was the one person that you always knew you could turn to for help and understanding. Her love was unconditional and she was always able to find humor in every situation. She loved everything that sparkled and even more if it was red. Her energy and zest for life were infectious. Your visits with her always left you with a happy heart, a big smile, and a full tummy. She was known to all her family and friends by "BOBO". She had amazing homemade health remedies that cured you immediately. Everyone knew that "BOBO" could make them feel better. She had a great love for her dogs and going fishing with her daughter, Rose Mary. She was always able to catch fish when no one else could. Her favorite sayings throughout her life were "All I want is a pink cadillac and a million dollars" --- "You're just an old fuddy duddy" --- and " I'm not crazy, I was just born that way". In her later years she drove the Senior Citizen commuter van, taking them to various activities around Nampa. She loved the people she met and they loved her. She also volunteered at Snake River Elementary helping teach the children to read. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nampa, Idaho. She had a strong belief and love for the Lord. She is survived by her children Frances (Bill) Tague, daughter-in-law Helen Martinez, Ted (Debbie) Martinez, Rose Mary (Joe) Ortega, Dominic Menchaca & Paulette Servatius, 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren (one more on the way), & 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, and her son, Paul. The family would like to extend their thanks for the love, kindness, and compassion that was shown to our Mother and Grandmother, by the nurses and staff of Trinity Mission Health & Rehab of Holly.
