Stewart, Rick Ferrel

59, died peacefully at home Nov 12th 2009. A native of
Phoenix Arizona, Rick graduated from Sunnyslope High
School in 1969. Following a passion of his father, Rick
was a lifelong racer. Well known as a driver, designer,
fabricator, and creator he incorporated Stewart
Fabrication in 1973. Race car owner of that Red 33, Rick
could be found in many a winner's circle. Recipient of
Sportsman of the Year in 1993. Inducted into the Arizona
Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2007. Voting Member of the
National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. Preceded in death by his
father, Paul Stewart . Survived by his wife JuLee Stewart,
mother Barbara Stewart, sister Paula Stewart, brother &
sister in law Russ & Lori Stewart & a loving group of
nieces and nephews, as well as a very large extended
family. Rick was well loved by the racing community
throughout the world. He asked to be remembered as the God
Son of the 1958 Indianapolis 500 winner, Jimmy Bryan.
Viewing will be held Wed. evening, Nov. 18th 5-8 pm at
Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N 7th Street Phx. AZ 85020. Funeral
services Thursday Nov 19th at 11am First Christian Church
6750 N 7th Ave. Phx AZ, followed by graveside services at
Greenwood Memory Lawn 2300 W Van Buren Phx AZ 85009. In
