Luba M. Blumberg May 24, 1929 - Sept. 25, 2009 40 yr. resident of Oakland, recent resident of Walnut Creek, was born in Philadelphia, PA. to Grisha and Ganya Monasevitch. After graduating from High School in Los Angeles, she received her Bachelor's Degree from Sarah Lawrence College and later received her Masters Degree in Folklore from UC Berkeley. Luba's favorite activity was dancing - she was an outstanding swing dancer and won many contests. Rossmoor residents will remember her flamboyant style and trademark flower in her hair. She was also an accomplished Flamenco and Baroque dancer and enjoyed Folk Dancing as well. Luba was also an accomplished actress and enjoyed working with Robin Williams in "Mrs. Doubtfire," and "Jack" and as an extra in "Princess Diaries" and "Nash Bridges." Her favorite stage role was Miss Daisy in "Driving Miss Daisy" which she performed several times in the Bay Area. She is survived by her brother, Igor Monasevitch (Betty), her two children, Bart Blumberg and Eve Albright (Greg), her two grandchildren, Jonathan Osher Blumberg and Delaney Claire Albright, and her two nephews, Paul and David and her niece, Alane. We miss you, Mom, and we thank you for all that you gave to us during your life! Your free spirit and joy of life will be remembered with love. Thank you for making our lives a little easier.
