BUTERA, GEORGE VINCENT

George passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2009. He was born in
Torrance, California, on August 10, 1948, to Edith and Vincent Butera
and spent most of his childhood in Bakersfield. George recently
celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with the love of his life,
Nikki. They doted on their three children, Nicholas, Philip and
Ashley. In addition to his wife and three children, he is survived by
daughters-in-law Margo and Anna Butera, his brother Bob, and many,
many people that call him a good friend. He is preceded in death by
his parents and son, Neil Vincent. George graduated from SDSU and
received a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from George
Washington University. For over thirty years, he served as COO for
various medical groups. He considered his current position with Balboa
Nephrology his dream job. With a quick, irreverent sense of humor,
George had the ability to make everyone in his company feel important.
He had a deep love for his family and enjoyed being with them and his
friends more than anything. A Memorial Service in his honor will be
held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20th, at Rancho Bernardo
Community Presbyterian Church. There will be a private burial.
Memorial contributions, in his name, may be made to the American SIDS
Institute, 509 Augusta Drive, Marietta, Georgia 30067.
