Villa, Joseph Jack

74, of Avondale, AZ passed away on October 4, 2009. He was a loving
family man and dedicated public servant loved by so many and will be
greatly missed. He was born in Tolleson, AZ, where he attended Union
Elementary School and Tolleson Union High School. He continued his
education at Phoenix College and enlisted in the United States Air
Force, where he served with the Military Police. He later joined the
Phoenix Police Department and retired as a Lieutenant after 27 years
of honorable service. After retirement, he worked for the National
Football League for several years. He spent most of his life raising
his family on a 5-acre ranch in Laveen, Arizona, where he built his
family a home, farmed, participated in several community
organizations, was a leader, coach, writer, musician and friend. He is
survived by his loving wife Mary Gloria of 49 years, his children
Veronica Mulch (Raymond), Alan Jack Villa (Marva), Susanna Kilby
(Thomas) and Valerie Andrus (Samuel), 11 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren, his sisters Yolanda, Oralia and brother Victor.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Esther, sisters
Aurora and Socorro and brothers Albert and Gilbert. Services will be
held Monday, October 12, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church,
512 N. 93rd Avenue Tolleson, AZ 85353, Viewing 9-10:00am, Mass 10:00am
immediately followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery 10045 W.
Thomas Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of
Joseph to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ
85014-5656.
