| Lillian JOHNSON Born Lillian Mae Hoffman November 19, 1900, in Deepwater Missouri. She came to Woodinville on the train with her parents before she was 1 year of age. She was the oldest of six children by Bill and Maude Hoffman. In 1919, she married George King who was from Boston. They raised four daughters and one son. Lillian had a true pioneer spirit. She worked along side her husband George as he cooked in logging camps early on in their marriage. During the war, she worked at the Shipyards while George was at sea as a merchant seaman. George passed away in 1956. In 1963 Lillian married Oscar John son and they enjoyed 26 good years together traveling the Northwest and also to California visiting grandchil dren. Oscar passed away in 1989. Lillian is survived by three daugh ters: Verla Phillis, Louise Turner and Shirley Downing and many grandchildren. Published in The Seattle Times on October 18, 2009 |
