DOWD, Barbara P. (Age 78) Barbara (Bobbie, Mrs. D) passed away September 30, 2009 with her family's lovebeside her, husband of 57 years, Major John J. Dowd; son Shawn Dowd; and daughters Deban Lothspeich and Kimbre Vega. Barbara was born in Hazelton, PA and became a flight attendant for American Airlines. She met the love of her life, John, in New York. John was a US Air Force pilot, who sent the newlyweds off to France, England and Germany. Military life brought the family to Spokane, WA. Here barbara raised her family while attending school to become a licensed nurse. Barbara served in her community in many ways and was the best wife, mother, nana and friend we could ever ask for. Barbara will be deeply missed by her four children, two grandchildren, husband, sister and friends. We thank you God for giving us the opportunity to be a part of Barbara's life and we know she is happy to be with you.
