Margery F. (Beach) Robbins, 83, of 1101 6th Ave. N., a retired registered nurse, died of natural causes Thursday at a local care center. Funeral Liturgy is noon Tuesday at St. Ann's Cathedral, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. O'Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Sharpe (Bud Lee) of Great Falls; sons Douglas (Sherrie) Robbins of Henderson, Nev., Kenneth (Kimberly) Robbins and Gregory "Joe" Robbins of Helena, and Ransom "Bill" Robbins of California; sisters Dorothy L. Franklin of Hamilton, and Jane Doty of Burr Ridge, Ill.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Robbins; a brother, Allen A. Beach Jr.; her parents, Allen and Loretta Beach; and a son-in-law, James Sharpe, who was a recipient of her care at the end of his life. Margery was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Helena and was raised on the Beach family homestead in Sieben Canyon. She attended Mitchell School at Sieben and graduated from Cathedral High School in Helena in 1943. She attended the Columbus School of Nursing under the Military Cadet Nurse Program, graduating in 1946. She married Roland Robbins in 1946 in Great Falls. Margery worked as a registered nurse at Columbus Hospital from 1955 to 1986, and also worked for the American Red Cross on the Bloodmobile for five years. She was the ultimate nurse, specializing in starting IVs, and continued her instinctive caregiving among her fellow residents at Cambridge Court. Margery volunteered at the Columbus Hospital, the public health office and American Red Cross. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Ann's Cathedral, and was very active in parish activates. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cooking, gardening and traveling.
