Ann O. Miller Died on September 15, 2009 in Lakewood, Washington. She was born on September 24, 1913 in Sidney, Montana. At age eight she survived a tornado in which her mother was killed. She married LaVern E Miller in 1933. They came to Seattle in 1941 when Boeing hired LaVern. Ann found jobs in food service. After retirement, they moved to the Land Yacht Harbor in Lacey and became active in the Wally Byam Caravan Club. Ann started oil painting at this time and many of her family and friends have examples of her work. She was widowed in 1989 and moved to Tacoma nine years later. Her final home was in "Sunshine's Haven", a wonderful adult family home with 24 hour care. She was well treated there and was comfortable and happy. After a massive stroke, Franciscan Hospice helped with her care the last months of her life. Through all of these changes, her mind remained alert and she retained her sense of humor. Ann is survived by her daughter, Norita (Dugald) Stewart, grandson Stephen (Helen Nuckolls) Liebelt, granddaughter Cynthia (Atsuyuki) Naka, and three great-grandsons, Kenneth Naka, Thomas Naka, and William Liebelt. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 27th at 2:00 PM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 6730 N. 17th, Tacoma, WA. Donations in Ann's memory may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 6730 N. 17th, Tacoma, WA 98406 OR Franciscan Foundation, Franciscan Hospice, PO Box 1502, Tacoma, WA 98401-9836.
