BECK, KAREN JEAN Born on July 31, 1944 in La Jolla, California, Karen went to be with Jesus on August 17, 2009, after a fearless battle with Melanoma Cancer. A lifelong resident of San Diego, Karen attended Crown Point Elementary, Pacific Beach Junior High and Mission Bay High School. Previously married to the late Robert ("Bob") Wachs, she met and married her husband of 35 years, John Beck, while working as a teller at Bank of America. Her love of the Lord led her to study scripture and become a Deacon at Canyon View Christian Fellowship in Tierrasanta where she taught Small Groups, served as a New Believer's Coach, and was active in church affairs. Karen is survived by her husband John, sons Steven Geoffrey Wachs and Robert (Lisa) Wachs, all of San Diego, daughter Erin (Jonathan) Collins of La Mesa, five grandchildren, and her parents Edgar ("Gene") and Virginia Livingston of San Diego. Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Lee Livingston in April 1985. Services will be held Friday, August 28, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Canyon View Christian Fellowship, 10791 Tierrasanta Blvd., San Diego. Karen will be laid to rest at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
