Robert Emmett Buckley

Bob was born in San Francisco on November 1st, 1930, and passed
away in Healdsburg on August 21st, 2009, with his loving wife of
55 years by his side. Bob was the devoted husband of Nancy Moran
Buckley; and proud father of Ginni, Kathy, Maureen (Mark), Bob
(Susie) and Patti (Gary). He was the adoring Papa to 10
grandchildren and four great-grand-children. Bob was a proud
Irish Catholic native San Franciscan. He graduated from St. Agnes
Grammar School in 1944, St. Ignatius in 1948 and St. Mary's
College in 1952. Bob then became a member of Local 38 Plumbers
and Pipefitters Union and started a long and successful career as
a mechanical contractor. He and his brother Dick (deceased) owned
and operated Anderson Rowe & Buckley, Inc. Bob was known for his
strong work ethic and dedication to the success of his family
business. Bob was a true original. He was a founding member of
the Sons of the Shake and the United Irish Cultural Center. Bob
was proud to be an active member and past president of Northern
California Mechanical Contractors Association. He was also a past
president of the San Francisco Police Commission and a longtime
member of the Olympic Club. Bob was an active parishioner of St.
Stephen church for over 50 years. Bob was a life long sports fan
and held a special place in his heart for the 49ers. He was proud
to have been a season ticket holder since the Kezar days. He was
also an avid San Francisco Giants fan. Bob enjoyed talking sports
with his grandchildren for hours on end. Bob was a great man and
his memory will live on in the lives of his family and friends.
Friends may visit Wednesday, August 26th at 10:00 am, and are
invited to attend the Rosary 10:45, followed by a Funeral Mass,
all at St. Stephen Church, 451 Eucalyptus Dr., San Francisco, CA.
Committal private. In lieu of flowers please consider donations
to St. Stephen Donworth Center or the Rafael House Family
Shelter.
