Post, Patty Lou Pearce (Thude)

passed away peacefully in her home on August 29th. Pat was a
lifelong resident of Arizona. She was born August 11, 1928 in
Taylor, Arizona, the ninth child of Jess and Pearl Pearce. Pat is
preceded in death by her two children, Charlene and Gunnar Mikel.
She is survived by her spouse of 40 years, Don Post, three
children Bill Valentic, Betty Thude and Frances Rice and six
step-children, Christine, Dona, Mike, Pat, Tim and Rory Post and
her beloved grandchildren, David, Heidi, Michelle and Jacob, as
well as nine step grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides being a devoted mother, Pat ventured and accomplished
many great business feats during her lifetime. She was co-owner
of Paradise Sheep Co. and 26 Bar Cattle Co. Pat also farmed 800
acres of land. She owned and operated The Walmar Apartments in
Chandler. Pat and Don owned and ran the Last Chance Bar south of
Chandler and managed to find time to purchase and renovate many
old homes in the area. There never was a task to large or too
hard for her to take on. She was a doer. Besides being brilliant
in her business ventures, Pat was always a winner. She loved to
go to Laughlin, Vegas and the local casinos. Mom had the golden
touch, she always won. Pat loved to travel. She and Don traveled
across the country and ventured around the world, loving Hawaii,
China, Fiji, Europe and many other far away places. But there was
no place like home. She loved Arizona, the United States and her
family. Like a mother hen she always made sure her children were
safe and cared for. We will miss her and carry her in our hearts
forever. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday,
September 4, 2009 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary Mausoleum Chapel,
10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, Arizona.
