HAMERSKY, Richard Lee 1937-2009

Richard was born on June 26, 1937, in Maryville, MO, to Mr. &
Mrs. Aloysius Hamersky. Passed away July 30, 2009 at his home
with his wife and family at his side. He is survived by his wife
Nancy M. Hamersky of 11 years, five children, Deanna Seay, John
Hamersky (Amy), Aloysius Hamersky, Raeanna Despain (David) and
Louanna Hamersky, two step children, Yvette Anderson-Lerch
(Randy), William Briscoe (Michele Raschka) all of Spokane. He
also is survived by two bothers Victor Hamersky (Edwina) of
Topeka, KS, Francis Hamersky (Lois) of Imperial Beach, CA. Two

sisters Christine Nigh of Allentown, PA, Phyllis Phillips
(George) of Blues Springs, MO, as well as 17 grandchildren and
two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents, brother Aloyisus Hamersky, sisters
Isabella Babcock, Armelia Hamersky, Dorothy Gray and two
daughters Mary Louise & Mary Regina Hamersky.

He was a Deputy Sheriff in Atchinson, KS, before moving to
Spokane in 1964. He graduated from ACCHS, Effingham. He served in
the army from 1955 to 1963, (Korean and Vietnam wars). He was
active in community as a PTA president of Logan Elementary, Scout
Master and Cub Master of Pack 227 at Logan, as well as Pack 205
at St. Al's. His love was baseball, he sponsored his own teams
and coached them, The Little Warriors, The King Cobras, Movin on,
and Discover Home Miners. One of his teams won the city
championship game in 1976. He was also a member of the Dahlia
Society which he grew many and entered them in the fair for many
years.

Graveside services will be held August 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.,
Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane, WA.
Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
