O'Toole, Harriet Margaret 82 02/22/1927 08/09/2009 Harriet, born in Portland, was a Rose Festival princess in 1944 during World War II, representing Franklin High School. She married Patrick O'Toole of Portland in 1949. Harriet worked at O'Toole Motor Company in Corvallis until 1960 when she worked full time as a homemaker. Later, Harriet worked as a librarian for Crescent Valley High School and was dedicated to helping children learn to read and was a volunteer for the SMART reader program. "H" as she was known, is survived by her husband, Patrick; children, Dan, Tim, Mary and Patty; sons-in-law, Dan and Eric; daughters-in-law, Gail and Kitty; sister, Donna Beatty; and eight grandchildren, Angie, Ryan, Hannah, Patrick, Griffin, Molly, Kyle and Kasey. Friends of Harriet O'Toole are invited to join her family in a celebration of her life at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis.
