Shirley, Mildred J. 74, of Mesa passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 at her home. She was born May 28, 1935, in Indiana, PA. Mildred grew up in Indiana and Harrison City, PA area and moved to Arizona in January 1969. She married Robert Leroy Shirley on Sept. 11, 1954. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Robert and two sisters: Kathryn Dopkowski and Ruth Cunnard, and granddaughter Heather Shirley. She is survived by two daughters: Linda (Dennis) Carter and Karen Shirley; and one son: Jeff Shirley; eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Jake & Jared Shirley, Casey and Dustin Carter, and Shawn, Samantha and Gina Shirley; and one great grandson Daniel Shirley; also one sister: Myrtle Bickerstaff and two brothers: Norman & Don Helman; also numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Shirley will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, August 17, 2009 at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm.
