Berni, Delia R.

Delia R. Berni passed away April 25, 2010 in Tucson,
Arizona at age 70. She was born in Mammoth,
Arizona on January 18, 1940. Her family moved to
Tucson at a young age and resided here for the rest
of her life. Her parents, Hortencia and Guillermo Berni
and later her aunt and guardian, Josefa Camacho
preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter
and three sons, Maria C. Montano, Armando Montano
of Oceanside, CA., Manuel Montano of Norfolk, VA.,
Gerald Montano of Washington, D.C. She is also
survived by a grandson, Jeff Stewart; her sisters, Lilia
(Walter) Jacobs and Josie (Louie) Blancarte, and
cousin, Alicia Loustanau who Delia considered as a
sister and many nieces and nephews. She worked at
Safford Elementary School in Tucson as a teacher's
aide in the 1970's till 1980. Then she worked at the
Pima County Courthouse/Pima Health Systems for 20
years and retired in 2000. She was a 1958 graduate of
Tucson High School. She was a proud mother of her
three sons who served in the U.S. Navy and U.S.
Marine Corps. She was married to Armando Montano
for 18 years and they had four children. Visitation will
be held Monday, May 3, 2010, 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (North Chapel) 204
S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 8:00 a.m. Mass
will follow, 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192
S. Stone Ave. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Human
Society of Southern Arizona. Arrangements by
