Stordock, Audrey Audrey was born in Troy, Montana February 26, 1923 to parents Lloyd and Lela Lathrop. At the age of eight, Audrey lost her mother and little brother Kirk in aterrible kitchen fire. Her father married hissecond wife MargaretAlbright in 1932 andAudrey's little sister, Lillian, joined the family in 1934. The family moved frequently to different towns in Montana as Lloyd was a newspaper owner and publisher. Audrey graduated from high school in Scobey, Montana and then became employed as a secretary. When World War Two broke out, women were needed in Washington, DC for government jobs. Audrey joined the many women who traveled there and worked several years while forming lifelong friendships. Audrey's children always enjoyed hearing her stories of boarding houses, wartime rationing and life in general in Washington, DC. In 1945, Audrey married Harry Mosman, a men's clothing salesman. They lived briefly in Spokane and Seattle and then settled in Moscow, Idaho with four of their six children. Shortly after, their fifth child was born. They then moved to Cheney, Washington where they opened a clothing store andwelcomed their sixth child. After raising her family and divorcing Harry, Audrey returned to work in the Housing Department at Eastern Washington University (formerly EWSC). She worked there many years and then moved to Spokane Valley aftermarrying Don Stordock in 1974. She then started working as the Financial Aid Manager for Spokane Technical Institute and stayed with that job until the school closed. One of Audrey's greatest accomplishments was joining AA and starting her over 35 years of sobriety. She became very involved in the organization and formed many friendships and served on several boards and committees. Audrey became the Office Manager at the Spokane AA office and stayed on the job until retiring at 80 years old. Audrey moved to the Tri- Cities in 2003 to be close to family. Her health started to decline after she broke her hip in 2005. She lived in severalsenior and assisted living facilities until moving to Magdalena's (Nicoara) Adult Family Home in 2008 where she received loving care until passing away on April 28th. A memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 23rd at 2pm at HillcrestMemorial Center, 9353 W. Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick, WA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
