Davis, Margaret 99 01/19/1911 04/29/2010 Margaret was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Vernie, near Ontario, to Angus and Lenore Warren MacDonald who were early Oregon pioneers in the Gearhart and Warrenton area. She grew up and attended schools in the Snake River Valley, graduating from Payette High School in 1929. A graduate of Montana Deaconess Hospital in 1932, she practiced private duty nursing during the time when the shift ran 20 hours per day. Margaret married Robert Marsden Walker in 1935. They moved to Mount Emily logging camp in the early part of the marriage. They lived in the La Grande area through the 1950s where she worked in the old Grand Ronde Hospital. After divorcing, she moved to the Portland area and continued her nursing career. In 1957, she married Dr. Leonard Davis, a dentist in the Tigard area for many years. She became interested in painting, was a member of OSA (Oregon Society of Artists) and Tigard Art Club and painted oils for many years. She also loved travel and made many trips to Europe. She was a proud daughter of early Oregonians; an enthusiastic, caring friend; and a fairly independent lady, living in her own home into her 90s. Published in The Oregonian on May 9, 2010
