He is also survived by his sister Mary (Johnny), his brother Bernardo (Bella), brother-in-law Boris (Billie) Kozolchyk & many nieces and nephews. Born in Havana, Cuba in February 1927, Oscar spent his first 33 years in Cuba. He was a Certified Public Accountant and a Professor of Accounting at the University of Havana. It was in Cuba where he met the love of his life, Marta. They were married in Havana, Cuba in April 1959. After Castro came to power, Marta & Oscar left Cuba & created a new life in the United States. They, along with their 9-month old son, Samuel, left Cuba in November 1960 & started anew in Dallas, Texas. Oscar spent the next 40 years calling Dallas his home, where he & Marta raised their family, resumed his pursuit of higher education, formed his own accounting practice, & taught at various local colleges. He and Marta also immersed themselves in a host of community-related & philanthropic charities. In 2000, Oscar and Marta decided to enjoy their retirement years in South Florida near their extended families. However, they spend much time in Washington, D.C., enjoying the company of their children & grandchildren. Always content & never complaining, he was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
