HARDIE, Anne Elizabeth
Anne Elizabeth Hardie, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister
and friend, passed away suddenly June 16, 2009. She was born in
Columbia, Missouri on June 26, 1952 and was the eldest daughter
of Jack and Margery Bobbitt.
Anne was a Psychologist by profession, but an artist at heart.
She loved art, music and literature. She was passionate about her
creative pursuits and produced a substantial body of artwork in a
variety of media. The outdoors, camping and hiking, the ocean and
tidal pooling, and her garden gave her immense pleasure. Her
compassionate nature fueled a life-long belief in progressive
social causes.
She was known for her ability to make others smile and find
something funny in almost any situation. Never afraid to be
self-deprecating, she laughed easily and often. Anne will be
remembered as a loving, passionate, outgoing, outspoken,
energetic, spiritual, intellectually curious and compassionate
person.
Anne was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is
survived by Rich Waltrip, her husband of 23 years, son Matthew
Hardie, daughter Katherine Hardie, grandson Jack Baker, and
siblings Trisha Bobbitt, John Bobbitt, Susan Schumaker and Andrew
Bobbitt. Please join us for a memorial service at 3:00, August
1st at the Unity Church at 2900 S. Bernard in Spokane. A
gathering in Cannon Hill Park is planned immediately following
the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
donations be made in her memory to the Arc of Spokane, the
Spokane County Parent Coalition, Parent to Parent program.
