DRAGASH, Dorothy C. She was born in Sacramento, Calif., on October 26, 1923, passed away on August 1, 2009. Dorothy was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was raised in Sacramento and attended Holy Angels school and Sacramento High School. She worked with her mother, father, and sisters at the family-owned New Paris French Bakery. She went on to work for the Made Rite Meat Company from 1955 until her retirement. She raised her four children with the help of her mother Emma Bianchi (Noni) and after her retirement she continued to care for Noni. She loved spending months at a time with her daughter Jan in Hawaii, her family, travel, golf, the cabin in the mountains, fishing at Echo Lake, mushroom hunting and going to the beach at Lake Tahoe. Cooking was her joy, especially for her family and for any friend that showed up at the door, there was always plenty for everyone. She also enjoyed a good highball at the end of the day - that always put a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by Eli Dragash, Emma and Joe Bianchi, and sisters Tilly Salvo (Manuel), Carolyn Peretti (Tony), and nephew Albert Peretti. She is survived by her son Michael Dragash (Ruth) and grandsons Mike and Matt, daughter Barbara Simas (Allen) and granddaughter Blake (Jake), daughter Patricia Dragash and grandson Joseph Stapp and daughter Jan Marie Baptiste (Abraham) and grandson Kyle (Summer) and many nieces and nephews. She was our rock and will be missed forever. Her family wishes to thank her friends at Triple R Adult Day Care and the WaterLeaf at Land Park for all the love and care she received in her last years, Dr. Cris Ylanan, Dr. Ehsan Sultani, Dr. Kirill Berejnoi, and all of the staff at Kaiser Hospital South for all of her excellent care, and also Eskaton Greenhaven for making her final days as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Per her instructions, there will be no service. Published in the The Sacramento Bee on August 7, 2009
