69 04/17/1940 07/20/2009 On July 20, 2009, at approximately 10:50
p.m., Jacqueline Derby Morfitt, "Derb" in nursing school; "Mommy"
nearly every year thereafter; "Jackie" to her friends and family;
"Nonnie" to her three grandchildren; and, ultimately, "the
Warrior," got her wings and took flight after a very long,
courageous fight. Jackie is survived by her husband, Neil Lewis
Morfitt Jr.; children, Andre Ahern and Brian Morfitt;
stepchildren, Neil Everett and Megan Carle; and grandchildren,
Robert Miles Gant, Spencer Everett Carle and Jacqueline Murphy
Carle. Jackie was a resident of Portland and was born in Bryn
Mawr, Pa. She was the director of surgical technology at Mt. Hood
Community College. We will celebrate Jackie's life from 3 to 5
p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, in the Davis Street Tavern, 500 N.W.
Davis, Portland; 503-505-5050. The family requests that memorials
be donated to the Children's Cancer Association,
