| Ida Marie HELBOCK Age 84, daughter of Alonzo and Ara Ables, passed away peacefully at her home on July 21, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert P. Helbock. Ida was raised in Sikeston, MO, and moved to Seattle where she met and married a gregarious, fun-loving Army sergeant, Robert P. Helbock. The military provided travel opportunities for the Helbock family, including 7 years in Germany before settling in Mountlake Terrace, WA the summer of 1964. Her family and home were her greatest loves; she nurtured each with initiative, creativity, compassion, patience and always, with humor. Ida was dearly cherished; her graciousness and laughter will be missed deeply by those who survive her, including her brother Orville Ables, sister Susy Spitler, her 5 children, (Pat Sanvik, Jo MacKAY, Bob Helbock, Mike Helbock, Sandi Helbock), 8 grandchildren, and 2 great- grandchildren. A celebration of Ida's life will be held Tuesday, August 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the family home. She was deeply loved by many and will be forever remembered as an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Providence Hospice of Seattle Foundation. Published in The Seattle Times on 8/2/2009 |
