| Blyth, Yolanda 84 06/10/1924 06/03/2009 Yolanda Lily Stoll was born in 1924 in Los Angeles General Hospital, the only child to Otto and Martha Stoll. She was raised in Anaheim, Calif., and graduated from Tillamook High School as class salutatorian. Following graduation, Yolanda worked as a secretary for the U.S. Naval Air Station Dirigible base in Tillamook and spent a summer working at Crater Lake Lodge. After the war, Yolanda attended the University of Oregon, where she met her future husband, Peter R. Blyth, of Lake Oswego. Peter became an attorney in Portland, a scoutmaster, and baseball coach. Yolanda was intrigued by Peter as he looked "dangerous-super cool." They fell in love and married in Alaska in 1949. Yolanda was a devoted homemaker, legal secretary and mother from 1950 on. Yolanda adored her family and is survived by her children, Peter, Robert, and Bradley; grandchildren, Tanya, Ryan, Danny, Kimberley, Christopher, Schuyler and Catlin; and daughters-in-law, Ellen and Francine. Yolanda was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, Mountain Park Church and her vast circle of friends. A celebration of Yolanda's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Mountain Park Church, 40 McNary Pkwy., Lake Oswego, OR 97034. Published in The Oregonian on 7/16/2009 |
