Wilcox, Beatrice Busch
Bea Busch Wilcox was born on August 7, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri where she was
adopted by her parents Frank and Beatrice Busch. She passed away peacefully on
June 22, 2009, surrounded by her loved ones in her home in Woodland Hills, CA.
As a young girl Bea trained in dance and began her long and prolific professional
dance career in Los Angeles when she was 18. Her career took her around the world
to perform on stage, in films, and for television. For many years she was a core dancer
on the Judy Garland show. She danced in the movies Funny Girl and Little Abner.
Bea and her late husband, Clayton Wilcox, divided their time among their homes in
Woodland Hills and their dream farm in Washington. In her retirement, Bea traveled
extensively. She visited: the Arctic Circle, China, Africa, and Mexico. She sailed
through Tonga, scuba dived the Cayman Islands, and traveled all over Europe. Bea
enjoyed writing poetry, skiing the Sierras, and spending time with her children and
grandchildren.
Bea was a special person who loved life deeply and touched those around her with her
laughter, zest for life, and unbridled generosity. Bea was a beautiful dancer in life and
her spirit will dance on in our hearts forever.
