Landis, Hansi Brentwood - Fashion Designer Hansi Landis, who was best-known for her "European-Viennese elegance and Classicism" and "made fashion accessible to women world-wide", died July 19th in her Los Angeles home. She was 100. Born in Vienna, Austria, and in 1938, a Holocaust survivor, Hansi fled to America to pursue her dream as a Designer. Exploding on the fashion scene in 1949, endured as one of the best-known and most influential couturiers of the second half of the 20th century. Ms. Landis, who dressed some of the most beautiful women in Hollywood in the days of real Movie Stars, (Doris Day, Lucille Ball, Eva Gardner, Angela Lansbury etc) was an authority on how the art of wearing clothes has changed over the decades. "Hansi Originals" was located at the Sunset Plaza, now Cravings Restaurant. Hansi is survived by her gracious longtime friends for over 50 years, Murray and Hope Heller. She was blessed to have passed away in her sleep with her amazing caregivers Julie, Sharon, and adopted grandson Jeff by her bedside. Hansi was truly an Original!
