Dds, Donald Randolph Brown
Dr. Brown passed away in Los Angeles California in the presence of his three children. Born in Kansas City Missouri to the late William & Georgia Brown, he began his distinguished career as the first African American to graduate from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry, where he finished in the top of his class. He met and married Ruby Brogden during his sophomore year of Dental School. Upon graduating the couple moved to Los Angeles California where their union was blessed with three children: Donna Brown-Hardnett Esq., Donald Brown II Esq., and Jeffery Brown MD. By all accounts Dr. Brown had a big heart, generous spirit and will be missed dearly by his three children, four grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, and admirers.
Services will be held on Saturday July 11, 2009 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate gifts to the Donald Brown Scholarship Fund, C/O UMKC School of Dentistry, Rinehart Foundation, 650 E. 25th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108.
