| Virginia graduated from Yuma High School and then attended Arizona Western College. She worked at San Pasqual Elementary School for 13 years as a secretary as well as a Health Aid Clerk. |
| Virginia was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed sewing, craft work, spending time with her grandchildren, and reading books. |
| Virginia is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Keith Milks) Parra-Milks of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Elvia Magana of Yuma; son, Ernesto (Jane) Flores of Yuma; brothers, Victor Torres of California, Richard Torres of Yuma, Henry Torres of Yuma; sister, Delores Kim of Phoenix, and half-brother, Diego Humildad of Yuma; half-sister, Rita Muoz of Yuma; mother, Saturnina Alvarez of Yuma; 19 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. |
| Virginia was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Manuel and Maria Torres. |
| A wake is being held on Friday, June 26, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. A mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. The final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 9 a.m.. |
