Virginia Flores,
69, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Yuma Regional Medical Center. She
was born June 17, 1940, in Yuma, Arizona.
Virginia graduated from Yuma High School and then attended Arizona Western
College. She worked at San Pasqual Elementary School for 13 years as a secretary as
well as a Health Aid Clerk.
Virginia was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed sewing, craft
work, spending time with her grandchildren, and reading books.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Keith Milks) Parra-Milks of Jacksonville,
North Carolina, Elvia Magana of Yuma; son, Ernesto (Jane) Flores of Yuma; brothers,
Victor Torres of California, Richard Torres of Yuma, Henry Torres of Yuma; sister,
Delores Kim of Phoenix, and half-brother, Diego Humildad of Yuma; half-sister, Rita
Muoz of Yuma; mother, Saturnina Alvarez of Yuma; 19 grandchildren and numerous
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Manuel and Maria
Torres.
A wake is being held on Friday, June 26, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the Rosary will
begin at 7 p.m. at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. A mass will be held at Immaculate
Conception Church on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. The final resting place
will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 9 a.m..
Pallbearers will be Keith Milks, David Milks, Rolando Chavez, Ernesto Flores, Gene
Diaz, and Fernando Desarden.
Honorary pallbearers are Richard Torres.
