Beach, Owen "Sonny" 

73, passed away in the early morning of June 17 after succumbing to a short battle with 
cancer. Sonny was an old schooler. He was one of the most charismatic and kind old 
cowboys that anyone would hope to know. He was a dedicated leader and mentor 
during his 30 years of sobriety in a twelve-step recovery program. Sonny enjoyed life, 
especially his 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He held a special place in his 
heart for Terri Ann, his wife of 22 years. His love of rodeo, John Wayne, and especially 
Elvis is something we will all cherish forever. May your spirit rest comfortably, as you will 
always live in our memories. It is now time for him to join the company of Beth, his 
youngest daughter in heaven. Sonny is survived by his wife Terri Ann, son Bret, 
daughter Barrie and stepchildren Kelly, Jenifer and Adam. Friends and family are 
welcome to attend a Funeral Service at 10:00 am Saturday, June 20, at Whitney & 
Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road. Reception to follow at 12:30 pm, 
in the Resurrection Church Social Hall, 3201 S. Evergreen, Mesa AZ. Donations in lieu 
of flowers may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phx., 85014.
