Edward Henri Boyer

91, son of Louis and Marie Boyer, brother of Eugene, passed away June 19, 2009, in
Tucson, Arizona. Edward was born in San Francisco on March 16, 1918. He is
survived by his wife of 67 years, Elinore; his sons, David (Marge) of Arkansas, Richard
(Peggy) of Tucson and Edward Jr., of Prescott; 11 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Adele Boyer and Eileen Coursey. Edward studied
electrical engineering at UC Berkeley and worked his entire career in the aerospace
industry. He and Elinore served for 15 years as volunteer camp hosts at Denali National
Park, AK, and for more than 25 years as volunteers at the House of Yahweh soup
kitchen in Lawndale, CA. They lived in Palos Verdes Estates, CA, for the last 45 years
and that was truly their home. They had many friends there and were generous and
steady neighbors. Ed loved to ride his bike and loved the beach, where he was body
surfing well into his 80's. Edward was a kind, tolerant, patient, fair, generous and good
man. He was a success by any measure, inlcuding the most important one: family and
friends that love, admire and miss him. Donations can be made to the Intercultural
Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans (www.cedointercultural.org). For details on
the planned memorial service, call the family at 520-615-7767.
