| ANTHONY, Peter November 25, 1959 to May 31, 2009 On May 31st Peter lost his fight with esophageal cancer. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patricia Zeigler Anthony; son, Jason Peter Anthony; parents, Valerie and Xenophon Anthony all of Spokane; his brother, Marc Anthony of Taipei, Taiwan; and a loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Marc Anthony, and Adelaide and Charles Moore. Peter was born in Pasadena, California and spent his early childhood in this area. In 1966 the family moved to San Francisco where Peter lived until he graduated from MacAteer High School. Upon this graduation he headed for Coeur d'Alene, Idaho marking the beginning of his plan to always live in the beautiful Inland Northwest. He received certificates in automotive mechanics and machining from North Idaho College and went on to work for Engine Supply in Coeur d'Alene. During this time he and Patty met, and they were married in 1984. Jason was born in Coeur d'Alene where they lived until moving to Spokane when Peter joined RAM Engine. In the early 1990's Peter enrolled in Spokane Falls Community College, and then entered Gonzaga University where he earned a degree in civil engineering and graduated magna cum laude in 1995. Upon graduation he joined Garco Building Systems where he worked until last September when he was diagnosed with cancer. These are the particulars of Peter's life, but the real story is his great love of family and of his dogs and cats all through his life, his appreciation of the beauty of this land, his keen interest in all things mechanical, his endless remodeling projects, and his high regard for friends and co-workers. The family sends special thanks to Vicki Green and her staff at Knight's Diner. Those power breakfasts were the best medicine of all, and your care is appreciated more than words can say. The family also thanks Dr. Cutter, Dr. Lamoreaux, and the nurses in the Chemo Suite at Cancer Care Northwest for all you did for Peter. And lastly, thanks to Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane, or Cancer Care Northwest. A Celebration of Peter's life will take place at 5 PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in the Alwin Chapel at HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME, 1306 NORTH MONROE STREET, SPOKANE. www.mem.com Published on 6/7/2009 Spokesman-Review |
