| Nile Dale Carson, Jr., 66, died May 29, 2009 at his home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 26, 1942, in Los Angeles to Nile D and Martha Carson. He graduated from Bishop Amat High, CA, and University of Nevada, Reno. He served in the United States Army. |
| He joined Reno Police Department in 1966 retiring as Deputy Chief in 2000. He was active member of International Association of Chief's of Police, serving as President of RPPA and RPSE and was National President of the FBI National Academy in 2003. |
| He was an active member of St Thomas Aquinas Church and Our Lady of the Snows for more than 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and poker. |
| He is survived by his wife, Martha; brothers, Dave and Tom Carson; sisters, Carol Stewart, Joan Earhart and Bernice Coppola; step children, Robert Brandenburg, and Mary Lou Mullins; grandchildren, Laura, Suzanne, Rebecca, Joshua, Ashley and Erick, with 11 great grandchildren. |
| Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. until the prayer service at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Walton Funeral Home, 875 W 2nd St Reno. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1138 Wright Way, Reno.
